Loose dirt can usually be simply shaken out or vacuumed up. Smaller stains can be removed with a damp cloth. As merino wool is naturally dirt-repellent, thorough cleaning is not necessary in most cases. Our merino felt can also be cleaned very effectively with a garden hose or shower. Allow it to drip dry, leave it to dry, and if necessary, smooth it out with a steam iron.
The natural wool fibre creates an environment that is unfavourable to many bacteria. As a result, odour-causing microorganisms find it much harder to multiply than on many synthetic materials. This contributes to a hygienic and comfortable sleeping surface.
